Role — internship, user interface designer

I had an amazing internship as a User Interface Designer at PrintOverIt, my first job ever! I designed three key things: a wallet app, an education app, and the website for PrintOverIt. I was a fresh UI/UX designer right after I completed my diploma, so I had to create high-quality visuals for a startup’s most important product. It was tough, but I made sure my designs were awesome, especially for the founder. That experience really made me love UI/UX design. It also made me a better designer, which helped me grow in the field.

brief

My first internship as a User Interface Designer at PrintOverIt was an absolute blast! I jumped right in after finishing my diploma, diving headfirst into the world of UI/UX design with little experience under my belt. During my time there, I worked on three awesome projects: a wallet app, an education app, and even the company’s website. Each project taught me how to strike a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, especially since PrintOverIt was a startup where visuals were super important for the product’s success. The pressure to deliver top-notch designs pushed me to grow and improve super fast. And guess what? The founder was super impressed with my work, which gave me a huge boost of confidence. This internship really solidified my love for UI/UX design. It wasn’t just about learning the basics; it also laid the groundwork for my rapid growth as a designer.

challenges

Starting my UI/UX journey at PrintOverIt was a rollercoaster ride. It was my first internship and my first taste of professional design, so I was totally new to the game. Designing for a startup was tough, especially since the visuals were so important to the product’s success. I felt the pressure to deliver amazing designs, and I had to learn a lot quickly. I had to balance creativity and functionality while working on three major projects—a wallet app, an education app, and the company’s website—which was a lot to handle. But I pushed through and came up with some really cool stuff that got a lot of praise, especially from the founder.

Learning and Growth

My internship at PrintOverIt was a game-changer for me as a designer. It was my first real shot at designing stuff, and I got to work on a wallet app, an education app, and even the company’s website. I learned how important visuals are to a product’s success, especially in a startup. I had to balance functionality with aesthetics, and I got pretty good at it. The founder gave me some great feedback, which made me feel more confident and helped me grow in tough situations. This internship really lit a fire under me for UI/UX design. Since then, I’ve gotten even better at it. It gave me a solid foundation to keep learning and pushing myself to be the best I can be.

takeaway

My time at PrintOverIt taught me that stepping out of my comfort zone is the key to growth. As a fresh grad with no design experience under my belt, I faced a lot of pressure to deliver high-quality visuals for a startup’s key products. But guess what? That challenge turned out to be my biggest teacher! I learned the importance of balancing aesthetics and functionality, understanding user needs, and presenting polished designs that really pop. Designing three major projects not only made me a better designer but also gave me a huge boost of confidence. And the best part? The founder loved my work and encouraged me to pursue UI/UX design with all my heart. Most importantly, this experience taught me how to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to new situations, which is what makes me so passionate about creating impactful designs.
